Achievements

Our site coordinators are the key to our success. Equal parts compassion and expertise, site coordinators work one-to-one with struggling students to get them what they need, when they need it. Learn more here.

Last year we helped nearly 46,000 Washington students achieve their goals. Of the students we served who were referred for specific concerns:

  • 98% of secondary students stayed in school
  • 92% of seniors graduated
  • 73% improved attendance
  • 79% improved academic performance

Of all organizations working toward student achievement, only Communities In Schools is proven to decrease dropout rates, boost on-time graduation rates, and increase proficiencies in math and reading.

Thank You!

AmeriCorps WA logo

We sincerely appreciate our AmeriCorps members and VISTAs for their service to Communities In Schools of Washington. Our partnership with AmeriCorps and the Washington Commission for National and Community Service last year brought our state network 20 site coordinators who work in schools to help more students stay in school and on track to graduate. Thank you to these dedicated volunteers who support our mission.

Performance Learning Centers are small, non-traditional high schools designed for students who have ability but are not succeeding within the traditional school setting. PLCs prepare students not just for graduation, but for college and career - the standard of success for graduates.
